Why Trust IDHaven

IDHaven exists for one reason: when you cannot speak for yourself abroad, the right people need the right information immediately. Trust is not a feature we add — it is the product. Every design decision prioritises your control, your privacy, and complete transparency about who accessed what and when.

You Own Your Data

Your passport, insurance documents, and medical information belong to you. IDHaven stores them on your behalf so responders can access them in an emergency — never to sell, share, or monetise. Export everything at any time. Delete individual documents or your entire account. You are always in control.

How Emergency Access Works

Anyone can scan your emergency QR to see Tier 1 information — your name, medical alerts, emergency contacts, and insurance hotline. No login required. This is intentional: responders need immediate access. Sensitive documents like your passport scan require verified identity, a stated reason, and time-limited access that expires automatically.

How Documents Are Protected

Documents are encrypted before storage. They are never served via public links. Every view flows through authenticated endpoints that validate permissions, scope, and expiry. Document views are watermarked with the responder's name, organisation, and timestamp.

Who Can Access My Data

You decide. Tier 1 (QR scan): anyone with your QR code. Tier 2 (documents): verified responders who submit identity and reason. Family access: people you explicitly invite, read-only. You: full access always. IDHaven staff: no routine access to your documents.

How Audit Trails Work

Every scan, access request, document view, notification, and revocation is recorded permanently. You can review the complete history in your Incident Timeline. Records cannot be edited or deleted — providing an immutable account of every emergency interaction.

How To Delete My Data

Delete individual documents from your dashboard settings. Delete your entire account and all associated data with one action. Deletion is immediate and audited. We do not retain copies of deleted documents.

How To Export My Data

Export your complete profile as JSON or PDF from Settings. Your export includes identity, medical, insurance, contacts, and access history. Take your data with you at any time.

Emergency Access Verification

Medical document access requires the responder to provide their name, role, organisation, reason, and photo ID. Access is granted for a limited window and can be revoked instantly. Emergency contacts may be notified. High-risk requests require contact approval before access is granted.

Transparency Report

During beta, IDHaven publishes aggregate transparency metrics: total emergency scans, access requests granted and denied, average access duration, and account deletions. No individual user data is disclosed. Full transparency report available on request.
